About Varsity Tailgate Club

We’re Paul & Megan, full-time working parents of four athletes, which basically means our lives revolve around games, meets, performances, and endless school spirit. The problem? The spirit wear was not our vibe.
Everything the schools were putting out looked the same: generic designs with no character. And we weren’t the only ones who noticed… sideline small talk with other parents let us know we weren’t alone in wanting something different. 
Then one day, while our oldest was in middle school, we went to a wrestling tournament and wandered into a hallway that stopped us in our tracks. It was lined with old varsity sweaters, wool pennants, and uniforms that looked like they were straight out of the “good old days.” Back when spirit wear was actually cool, felt substantial, and could survive decades in a closet.
That was the spark.
We wanted to bring back the retro, the heirloom, the proud-to-pass-it-down kind of fanwear… but with a twist. We weren’t going for predictable. We wanted unconventional. We wanted different. The kind of school gear that turns heads in the stands and actually makes you want to wear it while hitting streets downtown. Our generation was raised on “This is perfect to go from day to night.” Well ladies and gentlemen… you’re gonna go straight from the field out to dinner if you’re wearing Varsity Tailgate Club. 
It started with a single letterman’s sweater. Then we designed our first Viking mascot. Before we knew it, one design had exploded into multiple collections… countless late nights later, we have over 400 products in our first fall launch.
Varsity Tailgate Club exists so you can be different, express yourself, and be the loudest, proudest supporter in the crowd… while being ridiculously good looking doing it.
Our goal? Something for everyone in the family, made to last, and shipped out to you as fast as we can (because we know you needed it yesterday).
